Arguabely the most popular command in Windows, the dir (directory) command can be used to view information about files and directories. The dir command without any options will list the files and directories in a directory.
C:\> dir
10/08/2017 11:59 PM <DIR> Program Files
10/08/2017 11:59 PM <DIR> Program Files (x86)
10/08/2017 11:59 PM <DIR> Users
10/08/2017 11:59 PM <DIR> Windows
