Broadcom API Gateway - Uploading a patch

Let's say you've uploaded the following file to the server running the API Gateway that you are going to patch.

/home/ssgconfig/CA_API_PlatformUpdate_64bit_v9.X-RHEL-2020-02-25.L7P

 

Use the chown, chgrp and chmod commands to ensure the file has the following ownership and permissions.

-rwxr-xr-x ssgconfig ssgconfig CA_API_PlatformUpdate_64bit_v9.X-RHEL-2020-02-25.L7P

 

Make an SSH connection to the server running the API Gateway and select 8) Display Patch Management menu.

 R) Reboot the CA API Gateway appliance (apply the new configuration)
 X) Exit (no reboot)

Please make a selection: 

 

Select 1) Upload a patch to the Gateway.

This menu allows you to manage CA Technologies patches on the
CA API Gateway Appliance

What would you like to do?

 1) Upload a patch to the Gateway
 2) Install a patch onto the Gateway
 3) Delete patches from the Gateway
 4) List Gateway patch history
 X) Exit menu

Please make a selection: 

 

By placing the L7P file in the /home/ssgconfig directory, the L7P file should now appear in the list of patches that can be uploaded. Select the patch to upload.

This option uploads a patch supplied by CA Technologies and registers it with the Gateway.
Integrity checks are performed to ensure the patch is intact.

NOTE: You must upload a patch before you can install it.
      All patches from CA Technologies have an "L7P" extension.

If the patch you want to upload is not listed below,
use the "S" option to locate it.

1) CA_API_PlatformUpdate_64bit_v9.X-RHEL-2020-02-25.L7P
S) Specify a patch not listed
X) Exit menu

Please make a selection: 

 

If the upload is successful, is UPLOADED should be displayed.
