RabbitMQ - Resolve "TCP connection succeeded but Erlang distribution failed"

Let's say you issue a command, such as rabbitmqctl status.
rabbitmqctl status
And the following is returned.
TCP connection succeeded but Erlang distribution failed
This suggests that the Erlang cookie has not been defined, or is invalid. Refer to Getting Started with Erlang Cookie to understand the various ways that the Erlang cookie can be defined.
