The growisofs command with the -dvd-compat option can be used to burn a file to a CD or DVD. In this example, a CentOS .iso file is burned.
growisofs -dvd-compat -Z /dev/sr0=/home/username/Downloads/linuxmint-17.2-cinammon-64bit.iso
