mySQL / MariaDB - error log

The /etc/my.cnf or /etc/my.cnf.d/mariadb-server.cnf file should contain the log-error directive. In this example, MariaDB is configured to log errors to the /var/log/mariadb/mariadb.log file.
If you change this directive, you will need to restart mySQL or MariaDB for this change to take effect.
log-error=/var/log/mariadb/mariadb.log
