On a Red Hat distribution (CentOS, Fedora, Red Hat), dnf or yum can be used to install 7zip.
dnf install p7zip p7zip-plugins
On a Debian distribution, apt-get can be used.
apt-get install p7zip-full p7zip-rar
The 7z e command without any addtional options can be used to extract an archive in the present working directory.
7z e example.zip
