By default, Installation Manager will log events to a file named iim_install.yyyymmddhhmmss.log. The log files are located at <Installation Manager Installation Directory>/log.

The log.properties file can be used to configure Installation Manager logging. You would start by creating the log.properties file in the <Installation Manager Installation Directory>/log directory.

touch /opt/IBM/InstallationManager/logs/log.properties

You can then append values to the log.properties file, something like this. This should cause additional events to be appended to the iim_install.yyyymmddhhmmss.log file.
