Updated:

Follow these steps to setup and install a D-Link DCS-5009 IP camera:

  1. Plug the power cable to the camera to power it on
  2. Connect the camera to your router using an Ethernet cable
  3. Log into your DHCP server to find the IP address for the camera (this assumes you know how to manage a DHCP server). If your DHCP server does not lease an IP address to the D-Link, press the reset button on the D-Link.
  4. In a browser, navigate to http://<ip address>. When prompted to sign in:
    • Username: admin
    • Password: <empty>
  5. Select the Setup tab > Network Setup, and give the IP camera a static IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway (this assume you are familar with networking)
  6. Select the Maintenece tab and create a password

Follow these steps to configure the DCS-5009 IP camera to connect to a wireless network:

  1. Select the Setup tab > Wireless Setup
  2. Check Enable Wireless
  3. Select Site Survey
  4. In the pop-up box, select the name of the wireless network you want to connect to and click select
  5. Enter the wireless network pre-shared key (this assumes you are familiar with wireless network configuration)
  6. Select Save Settings
  7. Disconnect the Ethernet cable from the DCS-5009 IP camera
  8. Select the WPS button on the back side of the camera

To adjust the camera's horizontal and vertical position, Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Safari must be used. Chrome and Edge do not support Java. Configure Java to not revoke certificates:

  2. Select Java.
  3. In the Java Control Panel, select the Advanced Tab.
  4. Under Perform signed code certificate revocations check on, select Do not check.

Configure Java to permit the URL to use Java:
