Let's say when clicking on Open in PuTTY, the Terminal opens and immediately prompts to enter the username. After entering the username, it takes just over 10 seconds for the password prompt to appear. This is typically a DNS issue. If the DNS server is Linux CentOS, follow the instructions in the article on how to configure DNS in Linux CentOS (resolv.conf).
