How to add a user to a group in Active Directory

To add a user account to the Administrators group in Active Directory:

  1. In Server Manager, select Tools > Active Directory Users and Computers
  2. Select the Users folder.
  3. Double-click on the user account you want to add to the Administrators group.
  4. Select the Member Of tab.
  5. Select Add.
  6. Type the group name, select Check Names, and select OK.
