Some preferences for how the WebSphere admin console behaves can be configured by navigating to System administration > Console Preferences.
When you sign into the Integrated Solutions Console for the first time, a directory with a random string of numbers will be created at ${WAS_INSTALL_ROOT}/profiles/your_profile/wstemp directory, something like this.

Regardless if the user is or is not currently signed into the ISC, within the random string of numbers directory will be a file named prefs.xml (which stands for preferences). If you've not made any changes to the console preferences, prefs.xml will contain the following.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<preferences:preferences xmlns:preferences="https://www.ibm.com/websphere/appserver/schemas/6.0/ibm-portal-preferences.xsd">
<preferences:favorites-tree/>
<preferences:portlets/>
</preferences:preferences>
