The IntroscopeEM status command can be used to determine if the Enterprise Manager is running. In this example, the Enterprise Manager has PID 11842, meaning that the Enterprise Manager is running.
/opt/wily/Introscope/bin/IntroscopeEM status
Found Java process id 11842 for a EnterpriseManager.lax on port 5001
The ps command can be used to view the processes associated with the PID.
ps -ef | grep 11842
root 11842 1 0 08:04 ? 00:03:02 ./jre/bin/java -Xms8192m -Xmx8192m . . .
