RabbitMQ - Stop RabbitMQ application using rabbitmqctl stop_app

The rabbitmqctl stop_app command can be used to stop RabbitMQ, but Erlang will remain running.

rabbitmqctl stop_app

 

If the stop is successful, something like this should be displayed.

Stopping rabbit application on node rabbit@rabbit1 ...
