Various scripts, such as ConfigEngine.sh and applyCF.sh will use values in the workplace properties file (wkplc.properties). By default, the wkplc.properties file is located at the following directory on a Linux system.
/opt/WebSphere/AppServer/profiles/<your profile>/ConfigEngine/properties/wkplc.properties
Most notably, the following values are used to configure remote connections and authentication.
