Let's say something like this is being returned when attempting to install a package or upgrade IBM WebSphere. Notice in this example a slight difference in the package groups.
- IBM WebSphere Application Server V8.5
- IBM WebSphere Application Server V8.5 64 bit
CRIMA1174E ERROR:
There is already a package installed at "/opt/WebSphere/AppServer" in the "IBM WebSphere Application Server V8.5" package group.
The installation directory for the new "IBM WebSphere Application Server V8.5 64 bit" package group must not be the same as a previously used installation directory.
The imcl (Installation Manager command line tool) listInstalledPackages command with the -verbose option can be used to display the currently installed package groups. In this example, the name of the package group is "IBM WebSphere Application Server v8.5".
~]# /opt/IBM/InstallationManager/eclipse/tools/imcl listInstalledPackages -verbose
[Package group]
Name: IBM WebSphere Application Server V8.5
Installation directory: /opt/WebSphere/AppServer85
Translations: English (en)
If you are upgrading WebSphere using an XML response file, each "profile" in the XML file must be an exact match of the current package group.
profile='IBM WebSphere Application Server V8.5'
