OpenShift is a container platform provided by Red Hat, similar to Docker and Kubernetes. In other words, OpenShift can be used to create containers.
Installation Methods
- Installer Provisioned - Builds the entire infrastructure (e.g. networking, firewall, permissions, et cetera)
- User Provisioned (most difficult installation method) - User provides infrastructure (e.g. networking, firewall, permissions, et cetera)
- CodeReady Containers - (easiest installation method) - Typically used to install OpenShfit on a personal PC, which is simply a virtual machine (VM), primarily used for development and testing. This is ephemeral, meaning data is not permanent.
